Blank gif for spacing purposes Welcome to my home page. I live in South East London, and have done so since 1985 having originally hailed from Ruislip in Middlesex. I am married to Trisha and have 2 children, Emma, (14) and Tim, (11). I have finally got them to jot down a few details which are on their own pages. Mind you getting myself around to update the site is difficult enough, so I suppose I should not be too hard.....

Each page should contain a menu set applicable to the subject, but will always contain a main page button to return to the index page. I think one of the best uses of web pages is to share information and thats what I hope most of my pages will do. Take a look through the web and let me know what you think, all comments are more than welcome, both critical and otherwise.

I know that the Java buttons don't work in lots of browsers. Anyway good old text links are available beneath the hover buttons.

Who am I, and what do I do:-

Well I said where I was born and brought up, I joined the BBC straight from school and worked in various finance departments until I drifting into the computing area. From 1977 until 1997 I worked for BBC World Service at Bush House in Central London, working on the help desk supporting desktop applications. March 1997 saw a big change when the BBC decided to outsource its finance department operations. A company called MedAS (jointly owned by the then Coopers & Lybrand and EDS) was set up to run the operation. So after 23.5 years I was suddenly working for a new organisation. One of the biggest changes, for me personally, was that I was no longer involved in a day to day capacity at the BBC. For many years I had been the Union (BECTU) Branch Secretary as well as a Union safety rep. Through this I was closely involved in most areas of the World Service. On 28th February 1997 all this came to a sudden stop. It felt very strange. In August 1997 the operation was moved to Ealing, West London, where all the various different finance operations were housed under one roof. The main idea was to implement a common finance package across all the BBC. Part of the agreement between MedAS and the BBC was that the BBC would fund any redundancy for BBC service up to a certain amount. This meant that the company was quite keen to allow the long serving employees to take redundancy, it was offered and in December 2000 I took the offer. In the previous 2 years I had been working as a Oracle DBA, having taken the Oracle training courses in 1998. Fortunately there was a demand for Oracle DBA’s and I was offered a job with a firm called Prime Response in Brentford, which I accepted. The company has since seen taken over by a firm called Chordiant. We are a American IT company that sells marketing and helpdesk packages see the Chordiant web site for more information.

Anyway for more about myself and the family take a look at the rest of the site.

Thank for visiting.
